Paleo – Day 4

Today has been a good day.  For our Friday night family dinner we had yummy turkey guacamole burgers with lettuce instead of buns.  I have to admit, it was not quite an equal trade out for our traditional homemade pizza night, but we both agreed it was really good.  I am thrilled to report that the adjustments made yesterday seem to have taken care of my milk supply issues immediately.

Tomorrow will be our first cheat day.  We are both feeling good and not feeling a need to go nuts on cheat day.  We also have each committed to three things that we will NOT EAT even on cheat day.  I have chosen ice cream, french fries and donuts, while my hubby has chosen candy, chips and cookies.  We each approached this list with different philosophies; mine being things that I love that I know make me feel yucky and Eric’s being things he always overindulges in.  I constructed a plan to just stay out of ice cream, burger and donut shops for the next 40 days.  And then on Wednesday found myself in P. Terry’s Burgers which is apparently famous for their amazing burgers and fries…of course.  My parents, who were with me, did go on and on about how great the fries were and freely offered me just one, but I was able to politely decline.  Hopefully, I can steer clear for the remaining 36 days.  On the other hand, I did cave into a Paleo brownie with my milk this morning…Paleo, but really, a brownie before 10:30 am seems wrong any day of the week.  Here is how the day looked:

Breakfast – egg casserole (spinach, bacon, tomato, cilantro)  & almonds

Snack – brownie & milk

Lunch – chipotle orange chicken, broccoli & trail mix

Snack – strawberries & almond butter

Dinner – turkey burger, lettuce, guacamole, tomato, celery with cashew butter, fruit salad (grapes, peaches, kiwi)

Snack – smoothie & brownie
