Wisdom from the Pet Shop Girl

I thought I would pass along these bits of wise advice that I received from the girl at the pet store.  In the midst of all of the unpacking, laundry, and napping, I also set to getting back on my CrossFit schedule.  Returning from vacation always seems to give me the motivation to get back to it…of course, the extra pounds I usually acquire on vacation always help.  So in the midst of struggling to complete a sit-up, I looked up and noticed one of those things that you know you want to look away from, but can’t quite make yourself turn your head.  The dog food container had worms in it.  And not just a few…but tons of them wiggling about.  So I added going by the pet store to my list of afternoon errands.

After I completed my trip to HEB, I headed over to the pet store.  Hailey was a little fussy and out of sorts, so I wanted to make a quick trip in, let them know about the worms, get more dog food and get home.  While I was there, this sweet, no older than 20, girl cheerfully helped me.  Here are the two perils of wisdom she gave me:

1.  Worms in dog food will just give the dog a little more protein and won’t hurt him at all.

2.  Cook a chicken, eat the meat off the bones and then freeze the bones.  Then give them to my teething 5 month old to help relieve her teething woes.

Anyone who knows me knows what I did with that advice…but alas, I pass it on to you in case you are more daring than I.  And I had to giggle last night while I was eating our homemade meal of HEB deli counter fried chicken and Hailey was grabbing for a bite.
